This land is primarily Bangor silty loam and boasts a nice mix of hard and softwood. The elevation changes about 30 feet from one side to the other, from 300ft above sea level to 270. Thorndike is close to where they hold the Common Ground Fair annually, which is a large fair focused on organic farming and sustainable living. There is also an Amish community nearby. There are some small grocery stores and restaurants in the area. The closest hospital is Northern Lights Sebasticook Valley in Pittsfield.
